Nice report! Thanks for sharing…

The dust clouds are niffy, how were they made?

Classic! Love the Syrian mig vrs Zsu-23 action.

Great looking minis. Ive never seen this conflict done in 15mm

Rassilon – I got those dust clouds from Battlefront, although I think a different company makes them…

This is very inspirational. AIW in 15mm scale is fairly rare, IMO. What company made those tanks?

Greg B07 Nov 2012 8:43 a.m. PST

Coopman – thanks! The Centurions, M113s and T-55s are all from Peter Pig. The T-62s were a mix of Command Decision (which I think is Old Glory? I find that permanently confusing) and QRF. The BTRs and the ZSU-23-4 were Command Decision.

I was inspired by several others who have done AIW in 15mm, including Mark Kinsey (check out his blog here: link and Nate at NDC Wargames (check out that blog here: ndcblog.wordpress.com/). I highly recommend the period!

Classic. That sounds like my typical level of air 'support'!

I think that the non-QRF T-62s and the ZSU-23-4 must be by Quality Castings (manufactured by Old Glory 15s), as Command Decision (manufactured by Old Glory Corp) don't have those in their range.

Yes, it's confusing! Old Glory got rid of their 15mm ranges years ago and those became Old Glory 15s. However, Old Glory kept the Command Decision range and Old Glory 15s then bought the Quality Castings line…

To confuse things even further, most of the Command Decision range is also available from Skytrex and the Quality Castings line was also marketed under the Battle Honours label for a while…

:o)

I must find a new name to rebrand ours with.

All very simple really if you pay attention…:-)

Lovely looking game. I'm surprised that the Arab-Israeli Wars have never attracted more serious attention as a wargaming period, people always seem to prefer "what-ifs" in central Europe to a series of real, mechanised/tank battles.

Love the quality and attention to detail!

Very impressive painting!

@HobbitHighton – yes, it's a bit strange that people don't invest more in wargaming the Arab-Israeli Wars, as you have decades of conflict with all kinds of arms, all kinds of terrain and all kinds of forces. Should be at least as fun as wargaming the Afghanistan wars (which is quite common, IIRC).

In 15mm, you can get pretty much everything you need to play scenarios set in the Six Day War (1967), War of Attrition (early 1970's), Yom Kippur/October War (1973), 1970's counter-terrorism, Litani Operation (1978) and the First Lebanon War (1982-2000). Between Peter Pug and QRF you can get as many 1970's/1980's Israelis, Syrians, Egyptians and Palestinians as you want.

However, almost no minis for ultramodern Israeli-Arab wars and counter-terrorism, though…
