Does that mean that no one can ask it again?

There are an awful lot of pedants here, who think that just because THEY have the thread (from October 2010…) on file, that the topic can never be brought up again.

So what, if it has? The topic is dead and old, because it is dead and old. If no one has replied since November 2010, what makes you think that the issue has been settled?
Newbies don't know that it has been answered. Frankly, with the TMP "search" engine, you can have no faith that it can be found. OPs file it under the daftest Boards. Sometimes the "logical" title is not used.

I have no problem with posting previous TMP threads that covered this topic, but please do not assume that because it has been answered in the past, it is no longer open for discussion.

What if you were a history professor, and got very tired of sophomores asking the same damn thing every semester? What would you say? "I ANSWERED THIS VERY TOPIC 2 YEARS AGO!!!!!" That is very helpful.

We've discussed this before…

Well

if it 'has' been answered before, someone should give a link, and if there's still anything to discuss afterwards, by all means do so. Otherwise, without a link (because it is hidden in the depths of TMP's archives), discuss anyway, this time with a proper thread title ;)

This question was answered on page 17 of the Poughkeepsie and Albuquerque Piccayune Telegraph on October 17th, 1947. While all existing copies were destroyed in the great hoopla of 1974, there is a copy of a duplicate photocopy of the original microfilm available from the Dubrovnik state library. I you had put in your request in person to see this copy two years ago at the desk of Mr (formerly Mrs) Klagnvic OCD, TBC, DDT (R) you would have known the answer by now ! Do your research !

I think this is the best answer to the other TMP discussion "Are TMP members ironic?"

None of this has ever happened before, and none of it will happen again.

So say none of us.
