I've never seen these miniatures except photos which were not very good. So does anyone have them and if so what do you think. |

I have some Germans – they are plain, OK but nothing special. |

I have some Germans as well – mainly vehicle crews. They are on the large side for 20mm and rather lacking in detail. They don't fit in well with the rest of my collection, which is mainly AB (the standard in my view) with a sprinkling of SHQ. |

Very plain old school figures. That being said, there's nothing that a good paint job can't remedy, and their (imho) revolutionary separate heads system has to date never been emulated by any other 20mm manufacturer. There used to be a lot of excellent pictures of D-Day assault teams, Mobile Brigade Slovaks, Wake Island marines, and French Senegalese tirailleurs on the Rapid Fire! site, but sadly they appear to have been all removed. |

Not sure if these are good enough, but here are some examples I've been able to locate on the aforementioned site:
The flamethrower in the middle is by Raventhorpe:

Those are very good looking figures. |

I bought some US engineer types and some US and German FT's as Valiant do not make them in plastic yet. Seem to mix OK actually – may use a slightly thicker base for the Raventhorpes (and FAA 50mm mortar crew) but not too bad! |

I use Raventhorpe with Valiant figures and they blend in well with each other. |

@ Old Tommie; That's the point! Both ranges are too big! Raventhorpe vehicles are pretty good matches with other 20mm stuff, but their figures are closer to 25mm. I've gradually replaced all my Raventhorpe figs. |

Are Raventhorpe available in the UK? |

I believe there is an email link for Raventhopre on the rapid fire website rapid-fire.uk.com |

I emailed Raventhorpe on the 5th of November using the link on the Rapid Fire website. I heard nothing back until today when, without a word of apology, I received a two line unsigned email asking me to use a different email address. I'm afraid I was so incensed that I reacted by replying that instead of doing so, I'd buy from a company that had made it into the 1990s and had a website. I then got an immediate response of `What a good idea'. I intend to follow their advice and suggest everybody else does likewise. Let's face it, if a niche hobby company does not have a website going into the year 2013 that probably tells a great deal about them. |

Dave Holden, I have found Raventhorpe to be very good mail order-wise, strange, |

The vehicles are fine. The figures are closer to 25mm and would blend well with Valiant, but not much else! Bit old fashioned, too. I'm gradually replacing all my Raventhorpe figures. |

Didn't these used to be made in Yorkshire? |
