Frankly, with all the data on the French of that period, pre-1812, I am surprised that sculptors keep making troops in overcoats. I would love to see Perry or Victrix, either metal or plastic, done for French in leggings above the knee – not overalls: Plumes, cords, all the dress features allegedly declared for major battle wear as well as parades. I do not have enough room to do troops in overcoats! GdeP |

I can think of a multitude of campaigns / battles where overcoats / greatcoats would have been the order of the day, so I very pleases we have miniatures in all forms of dress. That said I wish Victrix had made a few extra / new poses in this box for some added variety. It appears to me the have simply changed the heads from their Old Guard sets. |

Guy, There was no Middle Guard Infantry, per se, in the 100 Days Campaign. There were four regiments of "Old Guard" Grenadiers, but only the first two would really qualify as "Old Guard." Same goes for the Chasseurs a Pied. However, the other two regiments were still authorized to wear bearskins, although by many accounts the 4th regiment was really rag-tag and wearing all manner of dress, and only had one battalion. |
