I saw this map of the Bunker Hill and Breeds Hill battle area and I think it is new. Anyway, it looks interesting to me and hopefully to those who are unaware of it. Enjoy. link |

Wow, I have not seen that either with all the detail of where the units were located at. |

I think the significant thing about this (and other maps I have seen) are the fences that impeded the British attack on the earthwork. In terms of the game British Grenadiers, they fences should cause 1 DP for each one crossed I would think. My guess is that that lost time climbing over – knocking down the things and it slowed their advance and led them into returning fire instead of charging since they lost momentum. Knocking over/down a fence is not as easy as you might think. |

I haven't seen that map before. Good detail of what units and strength of those formations. Thanks for sharing. |

Thanks for finding this. Can anyone explain to me why the British didn't just land behind the neck and cut off the entire American army? I guess they were wanting to make a statement by using the old frontal assault. |

I believe that British General William Howe did not want to win! |

I believe they waited too long and the tide was against them landing there. |

Where do the Fleches on the northern slope of Breed's Hill come from? They are not shown on Lt. Page's Map (Royal Engineer and ADC to Gen. Howe during the battle) and I can not find any references to them in contemporary accounts. link link Also they are not shown on the 1875 map by George Ellis link |

Where do the Fleches on the northern slope of Breed's Hill come from? Charles BTB good question, I have not seen anything contemporary that mentions them, Harold Murdock is mute on their existence – Mark Urban shows them on a map in 'Fusilier' and comments on them in his text but alas does not reference what this is based on. |
