Armaments In Miniature LLC has just released it's 1/100 scale (15mm) Polikarpov I-16 Type 5 resin model. This plane was used in the Spanish Civil War as a fighter and early WW II as a fighter bomber. Cost is $12.00 USD USD plus postage and handling. It will be available at HMGS East's Fall In! convention in Lancaster, PA.

An excellent model indeed. I enjoyed the oportunity of building and painting a flight of AIM's I-16 Type 10, and I must say these were actually easy to assemble and they look superb once finished:

You might want to do a wash with some diluted black ink to highlight the details. I must say, painted up these are quite stunning and have a much better detail than I suspected.

The problem that I am having with the photos of the AIM kits is that they don't show all of the details. Since the kits are new, I don't have any painted models to display so that the viewer can see all of the detail present.
Lluis of Minairons, thank you for the fantastic photos of the AIM I-16 models.

I've bought several planes from AIM, and have been satisfied with every one of them. If anything, my painting doesn't do them justice. They are great models, and Mr. Schmid is a great person to deal with. I can't recommend them enough.
