I'm going to paint some modern US Infantry in 15mm and was wondering if anyone had any handy tips to achieve the same effect as Multi cam?

Toothbrush for applying the stipled effect, from what I've read.

Haven't tried it, but makes sense to me.

I'e had success using the "salt method" link

I'll give the toothbrush a try thanks Mako.
Amazing idea BigNick. Modelers really are creative creatures!

Salting has been used for many years by watercolour painters. Either a modeller re invented the technique or they watched an art programme.

I would think a hogs hair paint brush would be better than a toothbrush for stippling.
Oil painters use hog bristle brushes so you can get them from art shops.

15 mil figures are pretty small scale. I wonder if you should really be able to make out much of a pattern at all.

Because I had already painted the equipment they were molded into the tooth brush was too difficult for these first troops.

So I just got random with a normal brush. When the infantry turn up I'll try the toothbrush on them.
