Pretty good fun. Check it out and let me know what you think (and read what I think about the game :)

Hope you like.

Thanks, the game seems to be a little less forgiving than DBA, does the system get involved with push-backs or are eliminations the more likely outcome?

The group that loses a combat is driven back (like a push back), and also takes casulties (how many is based on the combat results). However, when a unit is driven-back it is turned 180 degrees and moves straight back away from the enemy. Some units may be driven back FACING the enemy instead. Also,a unit that is driven back might be destroyed outright instead (such as slaves/peasant type units). Very inspired/fanatical types ignore drivenback results. Etc…

Of course, a unit could also be destroyed through loses as well.

As far as what is more common… I couldn't tell you off-hand (only played two games so far ;)

The reason MA is less forgiving than DBA is that the stands are organised into units of 1-6 stands. Every combat between units almost always results in the loss of at least one stand in a unit, and sometime more (as monger indicate). So the units deteriorate faster than in DBA. And the game goes faster as a result. I like it,

Yeah… for a FAST PLAY set of rules, it is outstanding, and the learning curve is WAAAAAAAY less then DBA. DBA is a great game though. I just feel MA is a better 'intro' type game to ancients. It also is geared towards allowing players to 'shape' the game and armies as they wish (house rules, NEW rules, army design, etc.).
