Hi every one I got my first game of Shipwreck in yesterday It was a good fun game and I like the rules a lot. We used a scenario from the Freeplay 88 book. The scenario starts with a NATO force including HMS illustrious and a frigate finding an unidentified ship which is close and a possible threat in fog and low visibility.

The write up is over on my blog if your interested.

Where are the shipwreck rules available from?

Mako1127 Oct 2012 3:33 p.m. PST

I've got a brand new set, plus the scenario book, if you are interested.

Sounds like a fun scenario, and the makings for another, with the crippled carrier.

There should be a QRS with the rules, if you got the hardcopy set. It is printed on two sides, on light blue card.

Perhaps a submarine attack, further escort vessels to deal with, or an air attack by Russian long-ranged bombers on the carrier.

Thanks for the comments guys and for taking a look.

@ only warlock
I would defiantly recommend getting these rules to you. The only thing I'll say is if I didn't all ready have 1:3000 ships for this period I would have gone with smaller ones. This is just because my playing area isn't big enough to make the range look right. We use 1cm to 1NM so Illustrious is like 3NM long, the rules take this in to account though by taking all measurements from the tip of the bow. Mind you having said that I like using 1:1200 aircraft and they might look odd with smaller ships.

@Generalstoner49
I got mine from magistermilitum over hear in the UK

@ Mako11
I like your thinking;an air attack could now be on the cards possibly followed up with a bigger surface action with the rest of the ASW striking force and the Russian SAG committing to the battle.
thanks for the info I got mine as a hard copy so it looks like the QRS is missing from mine. Think I'll have to email magistermilitum unless any one knows if there is a free PDF of it available?

Any US vendors left for this set? There doesn't appear to be any that I know of.

I sent you an email Mako.

Mako1128 Oct 2012 4:41 p.m. PST

I'm not aware of any.

Reply sent, TG.
