If you could have any animal as a pet what would it be? I think I would like a tiger. They are just so cool and they like to play in the water, unlike a house cat. |

A goose that lays golden eggs. |

" They are just so cool and they like to play in the water, unlike a house cat." They also can kill people and do, unlike a house cat. I think I would have a house cat. They poop in a box without any training. They are affectionate, mostly take care of themselves and do some pretty funny stuff from time to time. |

Well this is a fantasy thread, I have five cats myself. BUT what if you could have any animal as a pet. |

That thing that was halfway between being a wolf and a bear, related to both. Looked like a serious bad-ass. Or Denise richards.. Phil |

A komodo dragon would be nice, if I could find some way to cure the poisonous drool, and bacteria in the teeth. Perhaps some anti-bacterial Crest. Denise would make a good backup, if that doesn't work out. |

A Baluchitherium would be nice. link Or, failing that, Eohippus or Tasmanian Wolf. |

"Well this is a fantasy thread, I have five cats myself. BUT what if you could have any animal as a pet." So a domesticated version of whatever it is. I see. In that case I'd probably have to go with Denise Richards too. |
The Tin Dictator | 27 Oct 2012 10:55 a.m. PST |
I think I'd like to have a pteradactyl. One that was big enough to ride. Yes, you can ride Denise Richards, but she would be way to high maintenance. |

My old cat was a "familiar". You could speak to him, and he would respond. And you knew exactly what he was saying. He had some interesting idea's, and we actually carried on long and in depth conversations. The only trouble was, that he was an idiot. He was a cat for god's sake. |

I'm thinking leopard
Yep, definitely leopard. |
Martin Rapier | 27 Oct 2012 12:53 p.m. PST |
I like cats, so I'd have a cat. Used to have cats, but kids and two working parents came along. If is a fantasy animal thread, then something cute & furry which is actually awake during daylight hours but doesn't require half a cow to feed it every day nor a huge shovel to clear up all the crap. An animal bright enough to go in and and outside the house on its own without savaging the neighbours, clean enough not to crap all over the house, and not go nuts pining for human company when it is left on its own all day. So a cat. Or maybe a domesticated small pig. Best of luck with the elephant! At least there will be plenty of compost for the garden. |

John G -- only female Tasmania Devils make good pets. Apparently males get to vicious when they become adults. Apparently the Quoll is the ultimate pet. With bathroom habits of a cat, but the desire to fetch a ball like a dog. Pity it is illegal to have them as pets. |

Wyvern? Or those hideous 2 headed beasts that come out of the water in "Willow?" Failing that, a Kangaroo. Or another Dachshund. Come to think of it, I'd rather just have another Dachshund but the wife says no. |

Definitely a Cat Girl for me. Agree with the comments about Quolls – they are largely nocturnal, so they sleep during the day when you are away, then become active when you are around to interact with. Unfortunately most Quoll species are very short lived, in the range of 1-2 years. |

A couple of fish in a small nice pretty aquarium..They don't need to be walked
fed often, (a pinch a day or so), water cleaned, that's about it
No shedding, no pooping in the house, no torn furniture, allergies, or jumping up on the table when you are painting
plus they are a captive audience
muah hah hah
