@historygamer

yup, the Paul Revere: Werewolf Hunter is mine. What can I say? Too many AWI minis combined with too much bad TV and graphic novels… :)

There is always therapy. Come back from the dark side…. :-)

Thanks, that's sound advice. Might be too late for me though. Last year was "Zombies of Trenton".

Oh my, way too late then. :-)

So how many of the above games came off? I ran mine later on Saturday night. I had four players and we ran the "Washington Saves the Day" game out of BG scenarios, using BG rules.

HG,

To answer your question, I heard that the Cowpens game resulted in a major American victory. Rumor has it that Tarleton was KIA in the game. I saw the set up and it looked great. If you can afford to do AWI in 40mm, you should. They paint up really well. I think the figures were from Sash & Saber.

As for the other games, I was told that the Ft. McCord game was held but I don't know the outcome. The Ft. Hunter Muskets & Tomahawks game won a PELA award from HMGS. I saw the set up and the award was well deserved.

I also saw the 54mm ATKM game (Iron Hill 1777) which also looked impressive. If you want to be taken back to the days of your childhood when you started to play with toy soldiers, play in a 54mm game.

Lastly, I also had a chance to see the Ft. Ticonderoga games. The French put up a good fight, but in the end the British were too much for them. The players on both sides were a great bunch and they looked like they were having a good time.

I don't know about the other games, but I suspect they went forward. Given the weather related problems, the list of cancelled games was fairly short. Some GMs failed to show, but by Saturday the vast majority had picked up their badges.

I hear that there will be more AWI games in 40mm at Cold Wars. I look forward to it.

I think the 40mm stuff looks great. I was going to do the period in 25mm till someone gave me a 15mm collection to start working with. This after I swore I was done with 15mm after ACW. Oh well, never say never. :-)
