I have been meaning to start a thread on this and just now have gotten the chance to do it. I visit Hobby Lobby a ton for supplies and stumbled across these:

As you can see, 2" tall is perfect for 25/28mm and with a 40% off coupon you can get a pack of 32 of these little boogers for $5.40 USD. I plan on making 1" x 2" tiles out of Sintra board (I get all of the scraps I need for free from the company my dad worked for) with holes drilled in for 6 stalks per tile. I figure for about $65 USD I can buy 12 packs. That translates to 384 stalks or 65 tiles, or a pretty decent size field I can remove/replace tiles from as units enter/exit the field.

I picked some of those up awhile back! They're great. Corn rows are on my winter project list this year along with vineyards and more trees.

I will have to look for these. The quality looks great.

Very pretty. How well do they stand up to abuse?

Great find.
These look excellent and I have found a UK supplier – Derby Trees and Scenics. No website but here is the email, if you want to get details.

Not sure about durability. When I get to this project, I'll probably very liberally coat in matte med, matte acrylic/Dulcoatte or scenic cement.
