In an old issue of either Miniature Wargames or Wargames Illustrated there was a brief solo scenario entitled something like "Au Revoir et Bonne Chance". This would have been published sometime in the 1980's. In the scenario the player takes the role of a French officer in command of a platoon of reinforcements/resupply that are tasked with making their way to the front line. The French will make their way across the shell-scarred landscape until they make contact. All enemy forces, artillery barrages, and random machine gun fire are handled by die rolls or card draws. Does this game sound familiar? I found some boxes of 1/72 French and Germans at Hobby Town and thought they might be handy for a cheap battle. |

I remember that. It included troops carrying hot soup to the front, did it not? Great game! |

Yes, I think so. I recall it was set on the first day of Verdun. |
