Hi, I just saw this news over at the facebook page of TAG! Not sure i I has been posted yet but here it is! "On Facebook, Pete from The Assault group outlined the plan for the above. Here is the list and his thoughts: "OK, this is the way that it is rolling with the Tudors. Nick is working on the range now
We plan a full range of English and French minis, which will be ready for release in March or April or 2013. We plan to use Kick starter to promote the range, as present we haven't seen a full range of wargames minis promoted in this way so hopefully we can spark peoples interest by using the KS as well as reach people who we wouldn't normally get to with our normal releases. When we get to announcing the Kick starter properly we will have the English minis done and the French minis almost complete, so we will be able to deliver on these swiftly, no waiting around lick some KS's I could mention, but we want the KS crowd to push us into adding more nations for this mid-century period, so the stretch goals will include Germans, Scot and Irish, as well as a few other little treats I have up my sleeve."

Not my period, but great job and I hope it goes well for you. If you make those greens you're showing on this page available as a small reward, I'll buy that just because. Very cool idea. |

This could work. Worth looking at creating unit lists for FOG-R at a discount price. Good luck. The Colonel |

Hi, Just to make clear this is not my kickstarter but one from The Assault Group whcih will probably soon appear. But as said sweet and impressing range without the stretch goals and really wonderful if they could reach the strech goals! Cheers |

Nice looking figures and the 1540s period not covered this thoroughly. Am confused on kickstarter – so if I were to invest £250.00 GBP would I get this back if the project goes ahead, or is it 'lost funds' paid in order for the project to get going? Simon. |

I would rather have all these French for the 1520 campaigns in Italy, or for the English campaigns in France. I have no more use for the 1540 then a WW2 player for WW1 minis. On the other hand I realize that the market for the "glorious" times of Henricus Octavius is a bit larger – at least for French and English troops. Here is just hoping they do not abandon the Italian theatre after the Italians have been released. But all the best to this Tudor enterprise! |

Hi, @Painterman, no idea of how the kickstarter will evntaully work but we can only hope we can get some cheap miniatures. I think when they don't meet their goal, you get a refund of your goods and when the goals are met you get your rewards according to your pledge level. Can be wrong so help is welcome. |
Puster | 25 Oct 2012 6:40 a.m. PST |
If a kickstarter does not reach its level, the money will not be collected. Kickstarter uses Amazon payment, and you authorize them to take the money when the kickstarter ENDS. At that time it will be deducted, not before, and not if the criteria is not met. You will then (hopefully) get the promised rewards for your pledge. If you have pledged money without a reward, consider this a gift or a lesson for you. Usually you select what you want at the time of the pledge. From comparative kickstarters I would assume some lower reward levels where you can pick a number of packs, and some larger ones with collections or even armies. As its a kickstarter, some packs might not be available unless stretch goals for the total sum are reached. I am certainly looking forward to how this comes out. |

Does it really make sense to make the Germans, Irish and Scots as stretch goals for the English/French, rather than projects of their own? I have a feeling that this would put off those potential customers who would only want eg. an Irish army, but not an English army – since there is not an option to back up just the Irish. I think it would make more sense to split off the Germans, Irish and Scottish ranges into separate projects, so that people wanting a specific one of those could back up that specific subject. This would also provide information about which of them are the most popular amongst the backers. Possible stretch goals for each range could then include a few extra packs of models for a given range, such as extra command pack, historical personalities, camp followers, wagons or other nice-to-have items. |
Puster | 26 Oct 2012 2:01 a.m. PST |
Germans of the 1540ies would certainly bring up the possibility for gaming the wars of religion (the German Schmalkaldic war preceded the French one) and have some uses for both the Spanish expeditions to Northern Africa and late Italian campaigns. These just do not fit under "Tudor" this way :-) Griefbringer is correct – offering army packs for different forces and then stretch goals for each army pack, like general, camp follower, medic (err: quack),
if the total sum exceeds a sufficient total would probably work out. BTW: Here are their lists for German, Scottish and Irish "stretch goals": REN467 German General (to be decided) REN468 German General (to be decided) REN469 German/Burgundian Gendarmes with lance REN470 German/Burgundian Gendarme Command REN471 German/Burgundian Gendarmes with side arms REN472 German Nobles with lances REN473 German Nobles with hand weapons REN474 Early Reiter with boar-spears REN475 Early Reiter Command REN476 Early Reiter with pistols REN477 Berittene Hakenbuchsen-schutzen (with arquebus) REN478 Landsknecht pikemen with pikes upright REN479 Landsknecht pikemen with pikes at 80 REN480 Landsknecht pikemen with pikes at 60 REN481 Landsknecht pikemen with pikes at 45 REN482 Landsknecht swordsmen REN483 Landsknecht heavy infantry Command REN484 Landsknechts firing arquebus REN485 Landsknechts loading arquebus REN486 Landsknechts marching with arquebus REN487 Landsknechts standing with arquebus REN488 Landsknecht light infantry Command REN489 German city-militia pikemen with pike upright REN490 German city-militia pikemen with pike at 80 REN491 German city-militia pikemen with pike at 60 REN492 German city-militia pikemen with pike at 45 REN493 German heavy infantry Command REN494 German city-militia firing arquebus REN495 German city-militia loading arquebus REN496 German light infantry Command REN497 German artillery crew Stretch Goal 4 REN498 Scottish General (to be decided) REN499 Scottish General (to be decided) REN500 Lowland pikemen with pikes upright REN501 Lowland pikemen with pikes at 80 REN502 Lowland pikemen with pikes at 60 REN503 Lowland pikemen with pikes at 45 REN504 Lowland heavy infantry Command REN505 Lowlander firing arquebus REN506 Lowlander standing with arquebus REN507 Lowland light infantry Command REN508 Highlanders attacking with melee weapons REN509 Highlanders advancing with melee weapons REN510 Highlanders firing bows REN511 Highlanders advancing with bows REN512 Highlanders firing arquebus REN513 Highlanders advancing with arquebus REN514 Highland infantry Command attacking REN515 Highland infantry Command standing REN516 Scottish gun crew Stretch Goal 5 REN517 Irish General (to be decided) REN518 Irish General (to be decided) REN519 Irish Horse with lances REN520 Irish Horse Command REN521 Irish Horse with javelins REN522 Irish Horse with hand weapons REN523 Kern standing with spear REN524 Kern throwing javelins REN525 Kerns advancing with spears REN526 Kerns with hand weapons REN527 Kerns firing arquebus REN528 Kerns standing with arquebus REN529 Kern Command advancing REN530 Kern Command standing REN531 Galloglaich with axe, standing REN532 Galloglaich with axe, advancing REN533 Galloglaich with axe, attacking REN534 Galloglaich with hand weapons REN535 Galloglaich command standing REN536 Galloglaich command advancing" The alternative would be different Kickstarters, with production only starting if there is sufficient demand per army – I have no idea on the cost of a single Kickstarter, but I think I would prefer five small ones with a lower target – one per army to one "lump" kickstarter where the demand for some aspects cannot be sufficiently seen.
Doing it per small army would also offer the option to use it for the French or Maximilian armies of the Italian war first, to finish this era – and later for Ottomans, Mamluks, Hungarians and other Eastern forces
(sorry, dreaming again). Interesting times for TAG, and the Crowdfunding certainly enabled projects that would be dormant otherwise. |

I wouldlove to see first the French of the early Italaian wars |
| Fergal | 31 Oct 2012 6:27 a.m. PST |
It actually does make sense gents. As a former successful kickstarter, I've got a different perspective. Bundling them together will let you use any over-funding for the next phase of the project. ATTENTION all of the following numbers are fictitious!! Let's say you need 10K to make the French and English. Cool, you reach that and some folks continue to fund the project and you make it to 14K. If you only need 5K to create the Irish, you can use that overflow to start the project and then you only need 1K of support to make the Irish happen. You can then catch some folks that want English and Irish, English or just Irish in your net. A separate Irish Kickstarter might not make it. In the end, Kickstarters are about creating cool stuff and not always about making money. So by combining them you can possibly create more than might be financially viable otherwise. |
