Little Big Men has a great selection of shield transfers for Xyston Greeks. Has anyone tried them? Were they hard to apply?

Used a couple of hundred on my Xysto Greeks/Macednians/Thracians.

Easy to use, Gloss varnish the shield before applying.

Cheers Andy :-)

yea, they work great.

you must cut as close as absolutly possible to the edge of the transfer, you want no margin between the end of the ink and the edge if possible, because the xyston figure has a rim already.

And the more care you put into the alignment in advance, the better, as they can go off centre quite easily – as with any transfer.

gloss vanish the shield first,
then apply the thing,
then gloss varnish it again to help stop it curling later
(and then do your normal varnish for the shine)

white and light colours are the best for your shield backgroud – let the transfer do the dark colours for you, as anything else will get muddied.
