Jerry, who always puts on great games, hosted a game featuring a ruleset that he and Jake Strangeway are working on. The rules are made to fight the Alamo.

10 of us got together and duked it out.

Go check out the pics and the video.

Jerry haunts TMP and will answer your questions better than I can. So ask away.

I love it! Too cool. How long did the game last?

Thanks,

John

The Alamo buildings look like the one from Blue Moon 15s with some added detail to some of the buildings. I notice more cat walks along the buildings, which are not part of the Blue Moon Alamo because they were not in Lemon's book on the Alamo. Basically, where there was little left of building, and the defenders bricked up the windows and doors, they put in loop holes for firing out.

Any way, it is a great layout and terrain-ed very well. It looks like a great game.

The model is indeed Blue Moon's 15mm Alamo, as are the 200+
Texians. The Mexicans are old Minifig Nappys, painted over
30 years ago. I added the firing platforms for riflemen for
game play purposes. The game took 5+ hours. It should play faster at the con since we'll have 3 GM's instead of just me.

I thoought this was 28mm. very impressive for 15mm.

Yeah, seeing the Minifigs I thought it was 28mm too.

Thanks,

John

Very inspiring, I just got one myself, and plan on making a diorama out of it, for my coffee table. Very Very nice.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It was a joy constructing and painting it. The Blue Alamo is just an outstanding model, as are their TWI figures.

Yes, this encourages me to get my BM Alamo painted. Beautifully done. And the rules sound like a lot of fun.

Painting my BM Alamo this weekend. I have 1800 minis from BM to go with it. But its a diorama for my coffee table incased in glass.

I have the 25mm version. Last night Jake ran the game and everyone enjoyed it.
Fun set of rules with interesting victory conditions…

Your photos of your game inspired me, while I was working on my own Alamo.

Tom,
Thanks. IMO you have raised the bar, considerably.
