I'm interested in one of these, but it's only got ports for six guns.
I'm thinking of cutting a few more in the sides of the hull, just abaft the ship's wheel, but in front of the cabin wall (actually, drilling a few holes in the sides, and then filing the openings square). Looks like the guns will fit fine there.
However, I want to make sure that the muzzles of the guns provided will line up with the slightly raised wale on the outside of the sloop, like they do for the other gunports.
From the photos, it looks like that just might work, since it appears the wale curves up slightly towards the rear of the vessel (the decking just abaft the wheel is raised a bit, causing the concern).
So, if someone owns one of these, and could check that for me, or provide a good, side level photo of the vessel, that'd be really helpful.

They also make an eight gun, flushed deck sloop as well, but I prefer the looks of the vessel with the sides of the hull intact, to provide protection for the crew.
I do have an e-mail in to the proprietor about this as well.
