I did the same with an aerial photograph by going to a company that makes vinyl screens to put behind the plants in the garden.
4 feet by 6 feet full color vinyl cost me about 60 euros.

Try Hotz Mats I remember seeing something on their website offering to do custom mats.

You can have places like Vistaprint create a banner for you. Just upload the image you want and get it printed out.

Todosi, nice idea thanks. Would be great for WoW. But I need hexes. Any ideas on hex overlays?

I use a cad program to make the hexes and then insert the raster image behind the hex layer.
