I tried out one of these cheaper 1:144 alternatives (which have just turned up in my local model shop) …

I understand they are re-issues of an older range (but may be of interest nevertheless)

See the reviews page on my 20th Cent. blog for what I made of it and some more pictures (from sprue to spray, as it were …)…

F-Toys do a Spad VII and Albatross DV pre-painted in a choice of 3 color schemes

Nice job on that cockpit detail painting! Maybe you could produce a printed cockpit sticker on label paper to do mass production runs. Wish I had known about these reissues before dropping big $ on a OOP set of 21st Century models.

Revell used to do a "Red Baron" Fokker triplane in 1:144 – you can still find them in some model shops.

The Revell triplane is a horrible kit and needs a lot of work
