"TRAVELLERcon-USA 2012 *CANCELLED*" Topic

Greetings all,

Sad to say, we must pull the plug on this year's TRAVELLERcon-USA. In reviewing the pre-reg numbers, we found that we're down below our first year's attendance, which is a very bad sign.

We're hopeful that it's due to this years bad economy, the immediate political uncertainty, the change of date (from October to November), and that by March of next year, things will be looking up enough to make holding TRAVELLERcon viable.

We'll announce in March 2013 whether we will be running TRAVELLERcon-USA 2013. If so, we will endeavour to return to the 3rd weekend in October.

Sincere thanks to those participants who pre-reg'd, the refund process will begin this weekend and you will have your refund fees returned by next week. Thanks also to everyone who was planning to attend, but was unable to for financial reasons commit at this time – don't be sad, we'll try again next year.

I'm very sorry to hear that.

Would've loved to attend, but I'm on the wrong side of the planet, and can't afford the shuttle ride to get there.

Bummer. If I still lived in the area, I'd be there every year.

We're a small operation, TravFans for TravFans, and while we've been able to sustain running in the red on previous occasions, we can't this year.

Perhaps you can find a library meeting room, or other free location to game.

That's what our club does now, after paying for meeting places for quite some time.

I don't think we've paid for a meeting place in over a decade.
