I am not from KC but will be staying in the area for a while and was looking to play a few games of Bolt Action. If anyone is interested or knows where I might find people who are interested in playing I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Where do you live in Kansas?

Mythicus08 Oct 2012 7:34 p.m. PST

I live in Oklahoma. Just staying temporarily in the KC metro area.

Try Tabletop Games in Overland Park. The website is being re-done, but you can get the phone and hours tabletopgameandhobby.com

How long are you in town? KC Game Fair is coming up in Nov and they have war games there, but I'm not sure exactly what is planned. kcgamefair.com

Thanks for the link Jana I will have to go check it out. I also found a store named Basement Games online but have to been there yet.

I will probably be here for a month maybe a little more. The game fair looks to be pretty cool. If I am still around I will have to check it out.

I play hordes at the basement. I'd be interested in playing Bolt Action. I don't have any figures though. I'm available any day next week (except wednesday) after 4:30 if you want to meet up.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.

I can do Thursday at 4:30, so do want to give it a go?

I have Amercicans and Germans but I don't have every option available so we might have to improvise on a few things. I think I have enough of both to throw together a decent sized game.

If we can make it closer to 5 that sounds great! Are you using 28mm scale figs? I'm thinking of what terrain to bring.

Mythicus17 Oct 2012 10:17 a.m. PST

Yep, I have 28's from a variety of companies.

5:00 is fine with me.

As for terrain, pretty much anything is usable. Depends on what type of setting you want to depict. A mix of woods, fields, houses, roads and water features would be good. However if you want to do mainly urban combat ala Stalingrad that would work too.

Thanks for the game it was a blast! I like the sniper and flamethrower teams a lot.

Mythicus19 Oct 2012 10:50 a.m. PST

No, Thank you. I would have enjoyed my sniper team as well if you had not gunned them down with your panzer on your VERY first activation. Lol, it was a lot of fun despite my terrible rolling and lack of of battle field awareness. The air strike on my own guys was ugly too.

My M5 Stuart managed to take two hits from heavy AT guns survive, and my mortar team hit three out of six shots which is pretty incredible, then managed to survive being run over by a tank, only to get taken out by your flamethrower.

I would love to play again. Next week I won't have a compatible schedule with yours. But the week after I should be able to manage at least one day if you are interested. Now that you have a better idea of what I have, you can build up a list to you specifications. I was also thinking we might try a 750 point game with no Veteran forces to see if this plays any faster.

vegabond25 Oct 2012 8:55 a.m. PST

If I remember right you can play tues oct 30th? How about the basement again about 5? I'll make a 750 pt list with no vets.

Mythicus26 Oct 2012 9:16 p.m. PST

Tuesday at 5 is good for me. If you want, pick out a scenario, whether you want to attack or defend, and which country you want to be and we can tailor our armies to fit.

vegabond28 Oct 2012 3:56 p.m. PST

Scenario 5 top secret! 750 pts (no vets), I'll play Germans again if you don't mind.

Mythicus29 Oct 2012 7:56 a.m. PST

Sounds good to me. I will get started on my force.

Great game last night. I was thinking about it and I think that we made one very large mistake that might have drastically changed the course of the game. I think when units are in assault mode both sides rolls damage dice before removal of casualties. As we played it, you didn't get to roll your 10 dice for your five armed-to-the-teeth Germans. Theoretically, there was a chance that you could have wiped my squad out and the objective would have been on the loose.

So you up for another game this Thursday?

The "Hold until relieved" scenario looks interesting. I will be at Basement games working on stuff that afternoon and evening.
