Ed from THW release the latest version or All Things Zombie and even as a big fan of the last two versions, I must say that the organization of the new set is downright incredible. I'm about 2/3 through the rules and even though the differences in the rules are pretty subtle in most places, significantly improved to the newest CR3 (Chain Reaction 3) in others, its the refreshing organization that looks like it'll make the game play so much easier.

I highly recommend this set. I'll be running a participation game tomorrow at Oxford, Al (OK, a store in Cold Water) and will update with more "boots on the ground" information after the fact.

OK, back to the reading as I turn in for the night.

Someone asked on the Yahoo Group what the differences were between ATZ – Final Fade Out and the older Better Dead Than Zed. Thought I'd post the answers here as well.

1 – Added People and Savvy Skills to further define the characters. These come
in to play when interacting with NPCs and when taking a Challenge that requires
intelligence.
2 – More and some new Attributes.
3 – All players should start as a Citizen then choose to become a Ganger or
Survivor. Police, Army, National Guard are NPCs you have to deal with for the
first 30 days, then they disappear. Yes, if insist you can be a cop or military.
4 – Citizens are a bit brittle.
5 – Medic dice is available if you have the Attribute.
6 – In Sight is current to CR 3.0
7 – Zeds don't trigger In Sights.
8 – Reaction tests are reduced and cleaned up.
9 – Charge into Melee tests replaces Wanting to Charge and Being Charged tests,
10 Optional reload rules.
11 – Melee is different, you fight one at a time but if you score same results
then next opponent gets to add 1d6.
12 – Vehicle rules are different.
13 – Zombies placed differently.
14 – Zombies generated and placed as soon as shots are fired.
15 – Different Encounters based on the ATZ timeline.
16 – Collecting resources and items cleaned up.
17 – Lack of Sleep rules.
18 – New Random Events.
19 – Introduce PEFs and have a cleaner PEF movement.
20 – Different Contact Tables.
21 – Different way to Meet and Greet.
22 – NPC Movement Table.
23 – Zeds now Rep 3. Count as Rep 4 for activation when see humans.
24 – Involuntary and well as Voluntary Encounters.
25 – Over 150 pre-generated NPCs.

That's about it but I may have missed something.

I was trying to resist the temptation. I have ATZ:BDTZ and enjoy playing, so why upgrade?!?! However, after reading about some of the new stuff, I don't know if I can hold off.

Sharkbait – I was hesitant about getting them but having read through them on the plane this morning, I can say that FFO is a significant improvement over BDTZ. (And I didn't think that possible)

And thanks Ed for the list.
