My contributors copy of the Wargamers Annual arrived yesterday and I've been browsing it ever since. I haven't finished reading it, but you'll find some of the highlights and a picture of one of the mouthwatering Bob Marrion plates below.

*Sigh* I need more French infantry like a need a hole in the head.

Don't be so despondent. Holes in the head are amazingly fashionable at the moment, part of the whole body modification fad.

And I'll think you'll find that many wargamers already have holes in thier heads. Mostly brought about by fevered dreams. Such as the desire to model the entire of Roarkes Drift / Khalkin Gol / Iwo Jima in 1:1 scale using 28mm models or deciding that what the world really needs is a new modelling scale like 35mm and then starting the figure range with an Argentinean Goucho or Polynesian Canoe…

It's like the thrill that you get when you get your picture on the cover of the Rollin' Stone.

I'm looking forward to reading Angus Konstam's Arcola article. Sounds like the makings of a fun scenario.

I'm guessing that the issue is somewhat of a Napoleonic theme issue – my article covers Napoleonics too.

Wow, this is my Christmas treat, and it is being discussed in October. Not fair!

I know Marc. Mrs Kinch usually gets it for me for Christmas, but Christmas arrived early this year.

Huzzah! Too much French infantry is barely enough.
