This diner was the discovery of several foraging, hungry gamers last year. It's within walking distance, very reasonably priced (cheap) and comes only in Big portions. Talk about the perfect convention food! link Here's more information on Colonial Barracks; hope to see you there. link |

Sound like a great place for a light snack. If you have any more local info please post it. Vince |

This place is only about two blocks from the hotel. We ate there last year and got a good, filling meal without a lot of expense. Col Campbell gives it two thumbs up! Jim |

As if we needed any more reasons besides just being with the loveable, huggable Brom family! |

Good food, VERY close to the convention. And an interesting, colorful place---more fun to patronize than a run-of-the-mill chain restaurant. They did sell at least one of those titanic pancakes to a Colonial Barracks person. LOL |

The food at that diner was good, my son and I ate there one morning of the con last year. I wanted to go back for lunch, but was simply too busy running my gaming! Another good off-site spot for breakfast is the Dumond's located at the nearby Lakeside Mall, just a minute's drive towards New Orleans, serving their legendary model 1862 Beignets -- Acadian fried dough covered in powdered sugar:
Wish we could be there again this year, for the Broms & other attendees, the gaming, the music
and the food. |

One of my favorite places in NOLA is Jaque-Imo's in uptown. It's hard to put a label on it other than great and fun. Their version of fried chicken takes standard comfort food and moves to a high form of art Enjoy the con! jacques-imos.com |

Donna and I will be there again this year, but will likely miss this fine restaurant. We are in food rehab these days. Looking forward to the games and the comradeship. |
