Can anyone recommend good (quality, complete) ranges of figures in either 15mm or 25mm that will enable me to fight this War?

Any suggestions as to uniform and organisation guides would be appreciated too!

Good organization guides and orders of battle for the Turks are hard to come by because of the very ad hoc nature of the Turkish army at this time. The highest permanent field formation is the battalion. Regiments, brigades, and higher formations are thrown together willy-nilly by local commanders. Osprey has a decent enough uniform guide for the Russo-Turkish War. When I was doing 15mm most of my Turks were from Rank and File. I have since converted over to 10mm and my troops come from Pendraken.

Reaper, isn't the Osprey for the 19th century Russo-Turkish War? The one that liberated Bulgaria?

Don't feel bad, Reaper, I had the whole Lancashire catalog listing of 15s for the 19th Century R-T War loaded into the Clipboard and ready to paste into a reply when I noticed the dates in the Topic Title.

My bad ... didn't notice the year in the title. I don't have any info on the earlier Russo-Turkish war.

Duffy "Russia's Military Way to the West" is the only English language source I'm aware of on this topic. Has a very useful chapter on this.

According to a plate in Duffy the Russians should have a green coat with red collar, lapels, cuffs and turnbacks; red waistcoat; red breeches; tricorne bordered white with a white plume.

The white plume and presence of lapels is the only difference from the Russian SYW uniform. The hat border appears scalloped as well. So you could use any SYW figures with lapels and small plumes, I'm inclined to think that SYW Austrians would work in 15mm if you painted the pom-pom white.

Then again, given the Black Sea climate you could assume they leave the jacket off and fight in their waistcoats as they did in Europe. That would avoid the lapel problem.

I can't imagine the rest of the army would be that different from SYW either.

Thanks folks.

Had the tricorn not assumed a much more flattened form by 1768 (to the extent that it was nearly a bicorn)?
