Beautiful illustrations, but I think they are all Nationalist troops. What would one use for the Republicans?

They are all Nationalists. Republicans, as the losing side, didn't get a victory parade that could be so nicely documented.

At the risk of stealing Bob's thunder, I've put up the first of a set of larger scale scans of the pictures on my blog here: link

Trebian, hope you can get all of these on line straight up so easier to view, thanks to all for pointing out this archive.

Bob

I'll try to rotate the cavalry scans, but the edges drop off the side of the blog if I do!

Second set of scans posted. These contain the SFL amongst others and aren't on Bob Cordery's site.

An update is in order – there is now a modern version of the Popular Army paper soldiers available!

This magnificent work of Rafael Francisco and many more that are on sale and preparation can be seen on Internet "ESTAMPERIA POPULAR" which suggest visiting it has very interesting sheets.
These sheets of paper dolls, which I publish, by permission of D. Rafael Francisco are a large Din A3 oversized (32 x 45 cm.). and I accompanied with corresponding flags at the time. These sheets are perhaps the first time, serious, authentic and true representation of an army that was organized, I fought and fell with honor, to serve the people.
