Browsing the web for pics of minis in tricorne I came across an intriguing short series of photos of a game 'Savage Worlds – Spirit of the '86': link Obviously a 18th C. amphibious skirmish game 'with a difference'. Flicker so seemingly I can't link directly to the pics link link link link I confess to be intrigued by the rules, some of the minis (conversions?) and of course -though it would probably require a little miracle to have a reader here remember about it- the actual game. Too bad some people don't have a blog

The rules seem to be "Savage Worlds", a cinematic skirmish system that can also be used for roleplaying. It uses different die types for troop quality (bigger is better) and rerolls are allowed for important characters. It's not bad, but our local group worships the d20 and so would not accept it. |
