I just noticed there is a Canadian Wargaming forum here. As our group has been playing for quite a few years in Peterborough, Ontario, I thought I should let you know what we are up to.
Last weekend we played R. Mark Davies Wettern Bridge scenario, written for the Battlefront WWII rules and played in 20 mm. A nail biter of a game …
Here's the AAR:

Wow – great game! Neat to see a WWII game without a single tank – but with lots of action

Awesome terrain! Hopefully we can meet up sometime. I will be relocating to Peterborough mid-October and have returned to playing BF:WWII again after several years of Crossfire and FOW.

I sat gape-mouthed as I viewed the terrain. It was beautifully done! You are to be commended for your effort and skill.
Cheers.

Frederick – yes, no tanks! There were four Cromwells and a Firefly that were supposed to come along, but that would have been a different story. But BF plays beautifully as an infantry only game.
Phong, welcome back to the fold. Certainly give me a shout when you get to Peterborough and we will get in a game.

Not only are the rules my favorite for Battalion/Regimental actions but it was really nice to see in 20mm.(What size bases?). Enjoyed your battle reports. The support from Fire and Fury on their website is superb.
Great terrain tips too! Make excellent battlefields without getting covered in paint, plaster and wasting an inordinate amount of time.

The bases are 1 1/4" X 1". BF, although written with 15mm in mind, gives all the information for basing 20mm at the beginning of the rule book. Interestingly enough, although I size all the table and distance measurements up by 1.5 to play 20mm, the bases are only fractionally larger than 15mm, which makes the bases more crowded but the battlefield less so.

Couldn't agree more about Fire and Fury's support. Sort of like the Linux of wargaming, as most of it is contributed by players.

Thanks, Bill. Once I get my family settled in, I'll drop you a message maybe via the Fire and Fury site. I have 1/72 German and Soviet infantry painted and someday I'll get around to painting my Brit paras, German FJs, and Japanese.

1/72nd. Even better! I was worried we would have to sort scales.
I've got a battalion or so of most things WWII, including a few odd bits like Gurkhas and Russian naval infantry. I look forward to it.
