Hello chaps, my regular ( long suffering) gaming partner has recently been bitten by the inter war period bug, and is trying to induce me into it and so I am trying to get a feel for things, I would therefore be very grateful if any of you intelligent, sexy, young men could answer me a few questions. 1. Apart from Peter pig who else produces 15mm minis/figures for the SCW and the RCW. 2. Which rules would you recommend, as a guide we both really enjoy, Maurice, Through mud and blood and Field of battle. Thank you to all in advance best wishes…CH.

I am none of the above (mostly). Permission to answer your question.

I went with 10mm Pendraken for both SCW and RCW, great figs at a good price and the service from Pendraken is always quick and efficient.

Red Actions from the Perfect Captain I'd a very nice, FREE, and colorful set of rules for the period.

Jackson Gamers have a web page devoted to RCW gaming, lots of info. link

Iirc Minifigs and Irregular both make 15mm RCW figures. Jackson Gamers have a review page of many available figure makes.

WOW, lighting quick responses thank you very much chaps. Captain, of course you are, you're just too modest to admit it, and what is more I would love you to answer my question. LtJBsz, to be really trueful my buddy wants to do it all in 10mm I just thought 15 mm may have more variety, are Pendraken really that good. I have their new ACW figures and their Late Romans and Sassinid Persians that Clibarainum scuptured and they are brilliant, but I also have there old style Carthigians and ACW and they are fairly poor. Dave Crowell thanks for the info on Minifigs and Irreg going to go to their wed sites and have a look now, thanks to you all, best wishes…CH.

Pendraken have a very nice new range of SCW figures. I would also have a look at Pithead for vehicles as they have all sorts of crazy early war stuff.

Ahem . . . I do admit that I do not know the answer. But if Glen is short for Glenda then I may be pursuaded to go the extra mile.

Otherwise, please refer to the answers given by my gentlemen friends – although none meet your earlier description either.

Mark Plant's Pygmy Wars site is probably a good start for RCW in 15mm, though he does mainly use Peter Pig:

He also lists rules sets.
If it was 28mm you were after I'd be able to help, sadly not 15mm in RCW, I'm saving 15mm for Sci-Fi. :-/

As for Rules I really like "TRIUMPH and TRAGEDY" though they are scaled for 28/25mm. There is a SCW supplement for them as well as colonial.

Well, since you like Mud and the Blood I would recommend IABSM with the "Up Your Cara Al Sol" SCW supplement from the 2004 Summer Special.

In 15mm for SCW there's Pig and QRF. Of course many WW1 and WW2 ranges can be plundered for Italian CTV, plus armour, guns, transport etc.

RCW, there's Pig again, Minifigs and Irregular miniatures. WW1 Russians from Bloodaxe and Sino-Russian/Boxer Russians from Old Glory can imporve the mix.

Rules? Really depends on the scale of action and complexity you are looking for. "Up Your Cara Al Sol" and "Triumph of the Will" from Too Fat Lardies are my recommendations to start off. Though Red Actions with the right opponent is a bag of fun.

Cheers
Mark

You might consider the new Square Bashing rules which will allow a great width of period. There are 55 armies including a good selection of RCW and a big selection of WW1.
