1:200 scale. Tough soft plastic, and quick to assemble it is just right for my needs. See more on the P.B.Eye-Candy reviews page (at the top, for now)

Look great, but need swastikas on tails to be accurate. |

Agreed, Historicalgamer, though these were quickly done from what's in the boxes. It may be that Zvezda deliberately don't include swastikas for marketing reasons. However I fully intend to badge up the NQM Luftflotte as it takes a more coherent shape. Phil P.B.Eye-Candy |

Armaments in Miniature makes a beautiful 1/100 Ju52 in resin for about $25. USD |

I just built one to use to spruce up an airfield objective for an upcoming game. Though I use 15mm my aircraft are 1/144th and given the size of this aircraft the 1/200th works. Simple to put together but a nice kit. A few annoying seams, you can see the one rather prominent one running down the back of the spine for exampple, but it cleans up nicely. I highly recommened a new #11 blade for the task. The plastic is semi-soft and doesnt respond too well to filing or sanding. I primed with a light gray enamel type paint (Testors Flat Aircraft Light Gray) and hand painted with craft paints and Vallejo all of which adhered just fine. At the price hard to beat! |

Swastikas illegal in some countries, so including them in the box would have serious legal and marketing problems. |

Agree with all your points Marc33594. Indeed, GarrisonMiniatures, that's what I thought. Great value models nonetheless. |

What sort of price are these ? The scale might be a bit odd, but I'm guessing affordable to try some interesting camouflage schemes on, especially that worn Winter look. |

I'm in the UK. Mine came from Harfields @ 4 kits for £10.00 GBP (at wargames show). |

In the US The War Store carries the whole line from Zvezda. The JU-52 is $3.49 USD though out of stock at the moment. link |

Now, I do like Ju52s! Not my scale, but very nicely done, all the same! |

These are great kits at a great price. Thanks for the War Store link, Marc. I see that Zvezda now has the Li-2 (C-47) model out, so I'll have to pick up some of those, to be used as American as well as Soviet air transport. And most interesting of all, the new Zvezda release "Battle for the Danube" blurb says it includes a Soviet armored train and gunboats. Another review says the train and gunboats are *not* 1/72 scale (which makes sense given Zvezda's use of variable scales for the Battle series. I wonder what scale the train and gunboats are? Dare I hope they might be perfect for 1/144 or 1/160 gaming? |

On second thought, I found a review with photos and the train and gunboats are too small after all: link |

link I assume the pieces and tabs are the usual size – so, yes, probably too small for me too, but interesting nonetheless

It can be very frustrating! I saw in person a demo at Hurricon this weekend and it is obvious pieces meant for that game. I was a bit put back seeing the figures unpainted on the boards (the way they come) and how toy like they looked. I was running a Rapid Fire game and had several of their vehicles in my game and all painted really was a contrast. But it was frustrating while in a way something for everyone scale wise it also meant some of their items I would love to have dont work with my 15mm. Someone mentioned they were trying to interest Zvezda in miniatures rules but unless they standarize scale, or fill in by say doing 15mm infantry and guns and 20mm vehicles, will be a bit of a stretch. |
