I know these link are intended for fantasy RPG/dungeoncrawl use, but taking a second look at them I'm struck by the fact that most of them would make really cool aliens, either as aquatic critters or something from a microgravity/zero-gee environment. There's enough different sculpts with similar styles that you could even have a variety of beasties that look like they come from a common ecological system. That tentacle hulk stretch goal critter they reached wouldn't be half bad as some kind of alien hybrid or Grimdark chaos spawn , either. Maybe if they reach $30 USDK and make the froghemoth they'll do some other stuff from Expedition to the Barrier Peaks (an old D&D module with scifi elements). Love to see them tackle some of the goofy tentacled robots from the starship dungeon. |

The big 'uns are nice and ubiquitous enough (they also work as Lovecraftean abominations), especially the DeepMother, but too pricey to pledge for from Finland. The Alibeth at $58 USD might just be doable but I think I'll be able to contain my enthusiasm enough to wait and see if it ever comes out on the regular market and if it does, at what price. |

They're already way past minimum funding, so they'll get made and be available to order. The high-end stretch goals, maybe not so much – but given Kickstarter's unpredictable late surges, I'm not ruling out the possibility of a flail snail or a froghemoth yet. The big stuff is pretty expensive, but given their size, not unreasonably so. Comes down to how bad you want them, as with most figs. |

I was the first sponsor. Glad to see it exceed the goal. Woo hoo! |

The Bloodkiss is sorely tempting – not only would it be nice for D&D, I rather like it as a starship-devouring void kraken sort of thing for Full Thrust. |

Not very good are they :-( – unless it's the pics as they look very rough and not finished? |

They look fine to me – but some people seem to dislike the style, which matches the illustrations from various D&D books quite closely. Can't make everyone happy, I suppose, but he's probably made the right decision in catering to the RPG fans by staying true to the originals. That's his target audience, not random minis buyers. Of course, the projected small customer base probably also drives the price up a bit, which is unfortunate. Not so bad that I'd pay the base cost + p&p + customs fee ca. 3.5% on top of that + 24% VAT on top of all that. Yes, you'd mentioned that on the Lead Adventure Forum. Not much manufacturers can do about a ludicrous VAT tacked on by a foreign government. I suspect the majority of his backers are US residents, though. Shipping such big models out of country is a pricey affair. |

I wasn't saying it's the manufacturer's fault, merely stating the facts. Given that most European customers would have to pay ca. 30% extra (or more) for even much cheaper stuff than the DeepMother, I'd wager that almost all big model pledgers indeed are "USAnian". |
