Aventine has released a couple of packs of dismounted Parthian or Early Sassanid cavalry. I wonder if there is any plan to release mounted figures? The figures designed for A & A are ok, but not as nice as the newer releases. Some Aventine mounted Sassanid catahracts, armored horse archers (shooting to the front), and command figures would really be sweet.

I think Keith said in his release notes that they don't plan to do so this year, so at least they haven't said never…

Craig

Yes we do plan on expanding this range but not this year. We are planning a command for these and that will be it for now, too many Romans to do…lol

Cheers

Very good to hear this. A couple of questions: Does this mean it will be a full range? If you were to guess, would the release be mostly in the the first half of 2013 or the last.

Hal

PS, no globe hats on the infantry PLEASE.

Ho Delbruck

It will be a full range but we have not decided as to where in the list of things to do it will go. It maybe a case of a bit here and a bit there being added. I cannot say if it will be 2013 or 2014, sorry.

2013 sounds a lot nicer than 2014, although a mounted versian of the figures you just relased would be a good enough bridge to get started (hopefully including command)•grin

They're fantastic! I would get a unit of these. When I'd get to paint them is another matter…

It's been more than a year. There are rumors of Parthians, whose cavalry could be useful for early Sassanids. I wonder if we will see real Sassanids from Aventine in 2014?
