Greetings All,
Played a small engagement depicting the I Corps of the Army of Northern Virginia's assault against the III US Corps (Sickles) on the Second day of Gettysburg – with some surprising results.

Feel free to stop by and have a look. -Steve

Great game – really liked the analysis of how the game played – plus the great pictures!

Your comments on the ground scale are right on. V&B really needs a consistent ground scale to get realistic results.

In response to your AAR, you could always put in a scenario rule in which the Union brigades are not considered stationary until turn 3 (or whatever) in order to try and more effectively replicate battlefield conditions.

Thanks for commenting all,

I really love Volley & Bayonet as a system and have used it for many engagements. By tinkering with the system and the movement rates, I was asking for trouble.

A well thought out system shouldn't be messed with much.

I think, had I kept the movement rates and ground scale the same, the Union Brigades would not have been able to achieve their stationary status and would have been in contact on the first turn (massed brigades get 16" of movement!)

I guess there is that! Try it again without tinkering with the rules and see how that works out.
