Here is the QRF VAB 4x4 Wheeled APC. This is a workhorse vehicle of the French armed forces. I read the 6x6 version is only for export and not found with the French forces.

The QRF VAB is a nice vehicle; there was still the mold lines and flash to clean up.

The machine gun hatch was however not very suitable to the model. It was a hatch, a cover, and the machine gun, but it was unclear how the parts were meant to go together.

My searching showed that many VABs are upgunned with 50 cal machine guns. I happily discovered that the 50 cal machine gun mount from Irishserb's VBL fit perfectly in hatch hole of the VAB.

Enjoy and thanks

Thanks mate – an honest and useful review. Where occasionally, in my opinion, QRF are behind the curve in sculpting and production quality, I think they more than make up for with the depth and breadth of their ranges…

I was just thinking that mould was looking a little soft, and had just sent this to Chas for him to look at.

I've always dug the VAB, although the 6 wheeler is my choice.

I have a few of these, and I thing they are a bit too flat compared to the one I have seen in real life.

they should be a bit more thick.

…many VABs are upgunned with 50 cal machine guns

Initial 0.50 additions were prone to injuries from over exposure and roll-over, which led to the VAB TOP program:

We often find that problem is more to do with perception. It's a pretty 'flat' vehicle.

(most of the versions you are seeing now have additional armour packs added)

Of course if you really want to pimp up your VAB:

Geoff, does this mean that QRF is going into the resin aftermarket business for its models ? <G>

Yes, and 127 separate parts…
