I was wondering if it was possible to cast clear or colored(semi-clear) resin in the same molds that you do white metal casting or if different molds need to be made for resin and metal castings.

Anyone have any insight?

i have poured resin into some of my older metal moulds and the results were a mixed bag, some figs and equipment came out lovely some hardly at all.
i did however find that some metal figs then did not fill completly, when i resued them for metal, and then found that odd bits of resin were stuck in the small receses of the fig space, ends of guns ect.
i may try again at some point.
don't forget that the resin is a lot less viscous than the metal and a lot of mine shot out of the side of the moulds!
i hope that helps.

I imagine it can be done, but you'd need to figure out the best rpm for the lighter weight liquid of the resin.

Ainsty does clear figs, and another company did before them.

Not sure if they use the spincasting method though, but they might.

Another one would be a pressure injection system.
