After going back and forth with Shawn from Ambush Alley (thanks for all the helpful advice and information Shawn!), I bought Tomorrow's War. But now I need 28mm figs for it. I don't want to get TOOOOOO futuristic (i.e. 40k), but I am looking for figs that would be for a battle in about 10 years from now. Think high tech troops from the vid games Ghost Recon/Modern Warfare/Rainbow Six/Splinter Cell/Gears of War, etc
This is what I am lookin' fer. Any suggestions? I am aware of Empress
And I have some Black Scorpion figs
Thanks!

I use Pig Iron Heavy Infantry figures, although they may fall into the too-futuristic category since they have gas masks and armor. Then again, if you are interestd in the Gears of War motif, Pig Iron stuff has that in spades. Here's a pic of my guys from a game:

Check out Urban War Viridians, cant link as Im at work, but they fit well as a higher tech relation to the pig iron guys in greatcoats. |

Prince August has 80 plastic infantry for a steal. And they're not too far fetch future. But they would reflect the diversity in colony troops. link 8) |

You might want to check out the Defiance plastic marines. TMP link |

Ultra Modern – present/near future Assault Group link Old Glory West Wind Road Kill
Futuristic Timeless:
These look good with Urban camo:
Check out Blue Moon Mercs line as well:link |

Hasslefree has some really nice stuff too. From their Sci Fi dwarves (grimm?) to some of their new human troopers you are sure to find some fantastic stuff! Also, EM4 and Copplestone Castings have some great near future troopers. |

My review of a variety of suitable miniatures: link Many have been shown on the thread already though! |

The old Shockforce Megacom figures that Mega Minis now has. They would work well. auction |

RKE, I have ALOT of those, but they are too 40k for what I am trying to do. I love the Copplestone (I cannot believe I forgot about those
) and Frank's Toybox so far
I like the look of the Pig Iron and Defiance, but those helmets are
I dunno
Too futuristic? Urban War Viridians may be a good choice.

EM-4 Troopers look good
Both you, AB, and Jake are on the right trail there

The Defiance line comes with heads w/o helmets. I also think that you can get some heads with soft covers too. The Panzer Grenadiers look alot to me like how I expect folks to look in the next generation of infantry. |

Defiance games heads could also be switched out with any of the many varieties of heads that pig iron has. EM4 troopers are a very good suggestion. Also good suggestions though they are 27mm to the eye and very realistically proportioned would be denizen miniatures which are really well sculpted and incredibly cheap, coming in at under a buck fifty each. Some good examples painted by our own Mr. Treadway. Federation mid-tech (Not ALIENs Colonial troopers
)
Federation troopers
Ventauran (aka zhodani)
Kniff (lizard/dog men)
Available From Denizen or Stone Mountain minis. Here's how they (Ventaurans on the far right and left) compare to GW and GZG figs.

I'm thinking about what to use for French Foreign Space Legion, Defiance with heads swopped out for kepis appeals. Other thoughts? |

Could I suggest the Eureka minis modern French? link I think they'll fit in well against Hammond's new future war troops. |

Also Infinity Aridana and Haqqislam lines. They're a bit pricey for fielding lots, though. |
