Hey Guys, I am looking for a nice 28mm Volley gun, any era or model will be considered, whether it's 3 barreled, or many rifle barrels like the billinghurst requa gun?

Just looking for a nice model! Anyone who can help me out would get my eternal internet love.

This one from Redoubt is pretty nice, though there is a bit of assembly work involved, since the model consists of 7-8 separate pieces.

Oh those look marvelous, I think i will grab one of those Hinchcliffe pieces! Thanks for the suggestions everyone :)

I have them all (I love the fool things); the Hinchliffe ones are my favorites, though.

There is an old (5th ed?) Warhammer Fantasy Empire gun that is neat, too. Triangular frame, with three barrells on each side. You better paint it before you assemble it, since you ain't gettin' that paintbrush in there once assembled!
Probably long OOP, I got mine at a flea market.

Garand30 Aug 2012 11:39 a.m. PST

The metal one is OOP, but has been replaced with a plastic one link

Damon.

Matheo30 Aug 2012 1:39 p.m. PST

Plastic Helblaster (yeah, it's called that) is way too big to resemble anything historical. The old metal one is nice though.

Tht's the sad story with a lot of the 5th ed Empire stuff. Someone decided that >GASP< HISTORICAL players might fiond some of them useful.
Van't have that!
So, let's tart them up with useless stuff.

Oh the WFB Artillery is monstrous, i don't know how they figure anybody could push one of their cannons! All of their models have lost touch with plausibility though. I do play WFB though and all my GW models are the 90's Perry's (Dogs of War/Empire etc) sculpts :D best mini's GW ever produced.

Matheo31 Aug 2012 8:51 a.m. PST

Same here, Zoring – I've spent quite an extra buck on 4/5 edition figures on eBay, but now I happily field an oldchool Empire Army that does not look stupid (well, apart from Steam Tank).

RNSulentic31 Aug 2012 5:50 p.m. PST

Actually John, I think it was the other way around.

Too many people were using their historcials for "Empire" and "Brettonian" troops. Which is funny, because I can remember seeing some Warhammer book in the late 1980's that was using pictures of somebody's Perry Brothers Burgundians (the ones now sold by Foundry) as "Brettonians".

Matheo01 Sep 2012 3:24 a.m. PST

That's because those figs were first manufactured by Citadel :) back in the day when Ansell was still working for GW. NOT the other way around ;)

Zoring01 Sep 2012 3:41 a.m. PST

Well nowadays a lot of people are using historical figures again for GW games because of the price/bad models.

Ghecko05 Sep 2012 8:49 p.m. PST

There is a plastic Zvezda kit with three 15th century artillery pieces in it one of which is much like what you describe.

Griefbringer06 Sep 2012 1:45 a.m. PST

That Zvezda kit is pretty, but being 1/72 scale the guns could look a bit on the smallish side for 28 mm usage.
