can someone tell me if the uniform of the 14th Regiment Polish drums, were painted dark blue or crimson

Are you refering to the drums here?

In that case, Nafziger shoes a lint infantry drummer, regt unspecified, 1810-1813, and the drum body is painted red with a white Polish eagle upon it, while the rims have medium blue and white triangles on them, blue (pointing down) on the top of the rims, and white (pointing up) on the bottom of the rims. The text if the book (Poles and Daxins of the Napoleonic Wars) offers no further information.
