What are the best figures available for the second half of the 16th century, specifically the siege of Malta and the eighty years war?

Essex has good Elizabethan English and corresponding Spanish line. You could cobble together the rest from remaining Essex ranges, Old Glory's 16th range, and find appropriate Turks in many places.

We use mostly Essex (90%) with a mix of a few other (Minifigs, Donnington, Naismith). Have a look:

For Turks, I'd go with Venexia

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It seems like Essex may be the way to go.

Oh, and if you are looking for post 1650 Landsnechts in 15mm, you can only get them from Grumpys (I've looked everywhere else).

I think jhykron means 1560s. By 1650 Landsknechts were "extinct."
