link HauHau! and furthermore: link What were all those people looking at off the starboard side? link 30 female students got off the boat before the accident. but
why? The characters in the game get on board the St. Philibert for a pleasure cruise. One or more of them realizes that they're off course headed for the island where 30 young girls are left in the care of some shady individual (think sacrificial virgins). There is some disagreement between the crewman delivering these girls and the persons on the island. You could have a mini adventure where they must rescue the crewman from the cultists. Of course, once this milk-run mission is completed, everyone is back on the ship, and the players spot a group of children who were hiding when they were supposed to be delivered onto the island
Meanwhile, the cultists on the island do some kind of creepy ceremony, their offering is found lacking, and some ancient middle management level horror rises from the sea to claim the missing tribute, which is on the St. Philbert. Tada! |

When Brother 12 escapes to Europe link you are a group of Canadians sent to find him and bring him back. There could be several groups of Europeans after him too, all of whom find him as he is bringing forth the horror. |

I'm away from my books, but weren't there some weird discoveries on a French farm, like alien archeaological finds? It may have been after the 1930s, but that just means the investigators could find them first. There's also all sorts of Grail stuff to throw around in France. |

There is a Kickstarter for Horror on the Orient Express
how about an adventure on the Calais to Paris
Nyarlahotep made an appearance in 1865 Washington to manipulate the assassination of Lincoln (my annual President's Day game.) Why not manipulate a revolution plot? |

Found it, it was the Glozel mystery: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glozel The time period is better than I thought, the findings were from 1924-30. I was getting it confused with some French mystery that started with V, but that turned out to be a UFO sighting. One of those involved only passed away in 2010 at age 103 – some sort of pact with the Old Ones to live that long? link There's also all those caves with prehistoric paintings, maybe the characters find one with something other than horses and bulls

I would also go with the prehistoric cave painting tie-in. Or something is found while building the Maginot Line. Don't forget the French Colonies: Indochina, the Pacific, Algeria, the Levant(Syria), French Guiana(Devils' Island), building a '30's 'Chunnel', Cthulhu Casablanca("Letters of Transit"-to Kadath), Degaulle & Dagon, or Quebec/New Orleans lead-in, The Surcouf subcruiser used for research, the ex-patriate art colony of Paris(Pickman Escapes), Andorran smuggling tie-in with the Spanish Civil War etc. Or take all the above and weave a campaign without losing sanity

Something to do with a lost regiment/squadron from the great war. The dead coming back to terrorize a village or a lost bunker complex that is now the lair of some dholes. |
