All my moderns are 6mm (GHQ/CinC). I play big battles with Spearhead/Modern Spearhead. All of my WW2 figures are 10mm. If I were starting my moderns today, I would probably go with 10mm which wasn't an option when I started, but I have waaaay to much to change now.

I upscaled my WW2 to 10mm from 6mm because I found the minis were easier to see/handle, looked great and didn't make the table seem that crowded like 15mm did.

6mm but I've been tempted to do 15mm many times.

BigNickR24 Aug 2012 8:32 a.m. PST

28mm and 6mm. Only scales I play (aside from full thrust)

O-scale railroad (plasticville) for terrain in 28mm, in addition to foamcore cnstructions.

Everything from 1:43 diecasts to 1:48 modle kits and 1:55, 1:56, & 1:60 aircraft and resins for my 28mm vehicles.

20mm for squad bases games like Ambush Alley & WW2

28mm for individual games like ATZ and Pulp

For Divisional sized games I use 3mm. My 6mm have been dormant. I use 20mm-1/72 for Company level or lower for most things other than Africa where I use 15mm due to Irishserbs's blog. grin

Thanks,

John

20mm using Liberation and Elheim miniatures.

Gennorm24 Aug 2012 2:00 p.m. PST

6mm for nearly 30 years but have some 15mm on order.

Just had a thought! (Well it happens occasionally…)

Pendraken have just released some 10mm Brit inf which look schweeeet! (on the news thread)and are talking about extending the range to other cold war armies;

Skytrex have long had some really nice 1/200th Action 200 vehicles which have been let down by some rather unsat foot figures;

So marry these 2 up and a whole range of possiblities opens up for 10mm Cold war gone hot gaming….

Now where to get some 1/200th Frogfoots….

15mm(smallest) to 28mm(largest).

Ron W DuBray25 Aug 2012 12:40 p.m. PST

28mm all the way

dglennjr25 Aug 2012 2:39 p.m. PST

20mm for moderns. Mainly because of the wide vehicle selections and cost vs. 28mm.

20mm, so much out there in plastic kits, resin and metal, and if you are game you can have a crack at the camo schemes!
