Wow .. just wow. I jumped in on this when it first started with the relatively modest goal of $30,000 USD to expand the Reaper Bones line. Now my $100 USD investment is going to garner me over 180 28mm figures and the kickstarter pledges just topped the 1 million dollar mark.

If your a fan of Reaper figs you should do yourself a favor and check it out. The kickstarter drive ends on Friday.

I'm posting this out of enlightened self interest because the higher the pledge total when this thing ends the more figures I get for my investment. evil grin

Oh here is the link to the Reaper kickstarter web page if you want to see the various pledge levels and goodies currently available.

How long will it take to get all the new figures starting next March? I couldn't find that info. My gut tells me it would take a long time before everything got into production.

I agree with Dave; if you are a Reaper fan this is worth checking out. The Vampire level is $100 USD investment and that alone will net you almost 200 miniatures next march. The $100 USD investment level also opens the option for you to 'purchase' additional figures with additional pledge dollars. I plan on picking up some of the optional pledge miniatures like the four different Fire Giant sculpts and a few of the dragons.

There are also some non-miniature options you can pick up too, like paint sets and miniature cases. The miniature cases hold 100 figures and cost $25. USD The paint sets have 12 bottles of paint each and cost $18. USD There are four completely different paint sets.

Lots of good stuff if you are willing to wait until next march.

I snapped up that $25 USD dollar figure case and a couple of the other options so my total investment is $140 USD (assuming I don't become overwhelmed with temptation and pick up a few more of the extras available) evil grin

I don't know it for an absolute fact, but I believe Reaper's intention is to send out all the miniatures in March 2013, not just start trickling them out starting in March.

The answer is buried in the Reaper Forum. Someone asked this very question and Bryan at Reaper stated flatly that the goal is to ship everything in March 2013. Granted this is a goal, but Reaper has always been a class act so if some things don't go out in March, they probably won't be far from it.

I was overwhelmed by greed. I'm in for $250 USD right now. That will get me two cases and most of the options I want- like four fire giants and some dragons for my sons. If the dracolich Nethyrmaul becomes funded I'll have to either pony up another $25 USD or drop other options. I think it will be funded and I'll have to up my pledge before this ends. Either way, it's been fun to watch and get in on. Even my wife and kids are watching the Kickstarter.

OMG!! I didn't realize you could get the same bonus option multiple times. I will definately pop for at least one more of those sweet figure cases. Hmmm and it will be hard to resist getting some more of those Pathfinder goblins and the deep dwellers option.

@ Dave,

I think you can get more than one- I hope you can get more than one. I just assumed you could. Maybe I need to check the Reaper FAQ on that issue.

You can deffinitely get more than one of an individal option. If you buy more than 4 of any option there is additional shipping required for international purchasers (not more than 4 total, only if tthere are more than 4 of the same option.)

whitemanticore20 Aug 2012 11:07 a.m. PST

Damnit! Money is a bit tight right now otherwise I would take the Vampire option plus a dragon and some giants. This is a freaking fantastic deal. GW you should be paying attention.

PJ Parent20 Aug 2012 11:34 a.m. PST

The way this is going you're going to need a second case to store all the minis!

Farstar Supporting Member of TMP20 Aug 2012 12:00 p.m. PST

The specific add-ons step happens after it is all done. What you do NOW is add up the dollar value of what you want and pledge that amount.

After the Pledge period is complete this coming Saturday, they will send out a "survey" that you need to fill out. It will include all the options available to you. At that point you select the specific upgrades you want.

EDIT: I guess NOLA Chris figured this out on his own while I was typing. Bears repeating, though, so I will keep this post in place.

And in the most recent update: "There's more big monsters (that aren't dragons!) coming up"

Oy.

PJ Parent20 Aug 2012 5:15 p.m. PST

This thing is like some weird addiction for me – I have to keep checking it!

Gokiburi20 Aug 2012 5:55 p.m. PST

If I only bought paints (plus a $1 USD pledge) would I still need to wait until march to get them?
or would that only be for the new colors?
(I assume that it was already discussed in the 391 pages of comments, but I lack the ability to find it)

Gokiburi20 Aug 2012 6:27 p.m. PST

I actually just found it: paints and sophie ship in september.

GypsyComet20 Aug 2012 6:59 p.m. PST

Yup. Several people just answered the same way. That could be a shared hallucination, but probably isn't.

IronMike20 Aug 2012 9:15 p.m. PST

Damn, can anyone spare a C-bill?

I am still looking for someone that wants most of the figures with the $100 USD level! I only want a few of them but really want to get some of the dragons and other large creatures as add-ons. If anyone wants to make an offer, I am really only interested in the orcs, goblins, and maybe a couple pirate figures.

Jana Wang21 Aug 2012 7:57 a.m. PST

There is a "trade" thread on the Reaper forum for people interested in trading or selling unwanted figures from the kickstarter. I think a lot of it will end up on Ebay next spring, too.

Chief Lackey Rich Supporting Member of TMP Fezian21 Aug 2012 9:55 a.m. PST

I know there are quite a few D&D groups who are pooling money to get a Vampire support level package and some extras. And yes, I expect floods of unwanted Bones on ebay and the Marketplace here next year, too.

Still not at 1.3 million, but it's early yet. I'm halfway wondering if 2 million is a realistic possibilty. 4 days left, but it climbed almost 180K yesterday alone.

Farstar Supporting Member of TMP21 Aug 2012 10:08 a.m. PST

The next revealed goal will probably set the tone for the rest of the week. They've said there are more big models in the wings, and a reveal at the right time could bump up the frenzy.

Farstar Supporting Member of TMP21 Aug 2012 1:54 p.m. PST

$1.3 USD million reached. The next goal is Dark Heroes at 1.4 and more Pathfinder iconics at 1.5. They are also saying the next reveal at 1.7 will be another large monster.

Just signed up at the Vampire level. Going to be an interesting day in March, going to the mailbox – what the…when did I order these…?

doublesix6622 Aug 2012 9:56 a.m. PST

I was looking at this but the only problem for me is what I will be charged in customs and charges if I bought them so it might not make it as viable as the Sedation wars kickstarter who are getting it shipped to europe and then distributing it all.

also I'd have another 200 minis to paint :)

"Sedation Wars"

Their video had that effect on you too?

Oops lets hope it plays better than my spelling :)

Farstar Supporting Member of TMP22 Aug 2012 12:22 p.m. PST

Indeed. One downside of KS for whole games is that it is *waaay* too late for word of mouth to save you the purchase price of a poor game. At least the KS supporters for Sedition Wars will be drowning in cool minis.

darthfozzywig Supporting Member of TMP23 Aug 2012 1:29 p.m. PST

211. Possibly more if they keep adding to the Vampire level.

Zephyr123 Aug 2012 8:08 p.m. PST

Over 2$ mil now. My brain screamed at me "You have enough paint! You don't need any more!" but I ignored it…. ;-)

Barin125 Aug 2012 10:42 p.m. PST

over 3.429.000 USD! providing how much figures I already have to paint it will keep me busy for a looong time ;)

Zinkala26 Aug 2012 7:00 a.m. PST

I'm painting at glacial speed this year and promised myself no new minis until I finish at least one army. I try to be honest, especially with myself but so much for that. I got sucked in for over $200. USD Too many nice minis way too cheap to pass up.
