Hello With regard to 1490 – 1520 period, were gabions strictly a feature of sieges or did they also feature with field artillery? Did field pieces have any sort of crew protection? whether gabions, pavises, whatever or did crew run to the nearest friendly unit if things got hot? Stuart |
