I am trying to get information on the uniforms of the "Italian" units that fought at the Battle of Castalla. Can anyone assist me? I am also interested in what happened to these units after this battle and whether they stayed in Spain. |

Do you mean the Calabrian Free Corps, Sicilian Estero Regiment
and 1st and 2nd Italian Regiment that fought for the British ? Some are covered by one of the Osprey titles. Also see these pages:

Thanks I have read these links and also the MAA book covering the regiments that fought for Wellington in Spain. No one mentions Flags. Do we have any information on whether the Italian Regiments (or Italian Levy) were given permission to carry colours ? |
