Here is a sneek peek at the new Halfling House we will be releasing next week.

Sneak peak of new Halfling House

Any comments would be appreciated!

We are planning on doing several Halfling buildings (the next probably being an Inn) as well as other fantasy (slightly whimsical but not sickly) buildings such as a Watch Tower a, Elven Treehouse, a Dwarven Forge, a Wizards Tower.

Looks great. Is the roof removable?

Ironmammoth20 Aug 2004 4:45 a.m. PST

I'm afraid not!

Some of the other pieces I am planning may have a lift off roof (like the Pill Box) but this one does not.

The watch-tower is constructed in slices so they will have stairs going up inside at least.

Very nice, David. Although it would increase the price, we would be more likely to buy such an item if it had a removable roof. We play RPGs primarily (and I play some skirmish-level games), and in both cases being able to go inside buildings is very useful. We have a few pieces that do not have removable roofs, and they tend to sit on out-of-the-way shelves collecting dust.

Still, the halfling house is a very attractive piece, with character.

Actually it might not increase the price that much as there would probably be less resin in the model.

The sculpting time would certainly increase and there would be extra mouldmaking. So extra setup costs but it would probably mean only a slight increase in the retail cost.

I will think about this for the Halfling Inn I am planning. I already have some nice ideas for exterior detail and I will see if I can't get some internal stuff as well.

I like it. Shame we can't get inside, though. Perhaps, if things go well with this line, you might consider doing a version with a lift-off roof?

What are the dimensions of this building?

This looks like a really nice piece and like mweaver and Neotacha, I too would love it if the roof was removable.

I'm planning on selling off or trading some of my "solid piece" terrain for terrain with accessible interiors. I tend to get much more use out of them in my FRPGs.

Definately sounds like I might have to move into doing interiors as well.

Sounds like a plan!

Thanks for the suggestions.
