I've been thinking about doing a little sailing on the 'igh seas, with the Caribbean as the backdrop, since I can't afford to go on a vacation there. Figured a fantasy campaign might be the next best thing to actually being there, and with all of those enemy merchant vessels just ripe for plundering, thought I'd take the plunge. Have any of you done anything similar, or are any of you currently running any solo adventures on the 'igh seas, in the 1600's, or early 1700's. Looking forward to setting sail, either in one-off adventures, depending upon how things go, or perhaps even a set of linked games, for a campaign, or two, just for fun. I may play some of these out on just paper, with suitable maps of the region, and some dice, but also plan to paint up some figures and vessels, for when I have the time, and want a little more eye candy around. Thoughts? |

I'm surprised that THW doesn't have anything along those lines yet. You might be able to work out something with one of his core rule sets. maybe use select stuff from larger then life. I think that has pirates in it but I doubt it has ship to ship combat. |

I'm surprised that THW doesn't have anything along those lines yet. Already have a rough draft to go with Rebel Minis pirates but in line behind ATZ and Warrior Heroes Legends at this time. Probably will be out sometime early next year. |

I had some notes for using THW's Warring Fleets with my loads of Wizkid's "Pirate's of
" ships. Also used the encounter rules from Legends of Araby for all the non-ship stuff. Had a ship's captain go from outlaw to privateer in the king's service to undead monster in the course of a year long game, about a decade of in game time. Was going to start a new campaign with a new captain who's mission was to hunt down the evil monster captain, but sadly my old computer went kaput. I lost all the notes. I don't even have a copy of Warring Fleets or Legends of Araby anymore. |

A very nice gesture Ed. Certainly a class act, and move. This is why I love TMP and THW. |

Can't wait for the Pirate rules, I was disapointed I couldn't vote for it three times on the poll. |

You might be able to adapt The Perfect Captain's Spanish Fury Voyage rules : link |

There is a small game called Cross Bones (I think) which can be played solo. Now, this is a self contained game which does not use miniatures and is quite abstract, but it might work with some extrapolation. I'll have to dig out my copy. |
