Was wondering has anyone ever used Mighty Empires tiles to run a historical campaign.

I had considered using them along with 6mm Irregualar Sumerian figures as makers for a Sumer campaign. The campaign never took off, but the tiles made a decent map with the Zagros mountains, desert, and Persian gulf all being ideal map borders.

Years ago I did a post-Roman British, 'Age of Arthur' type thing with them. It worked pretty well. I keep meaning to dig them out again some day.

I've thought about it many times, but never gotten around to doing anything with it. I have the PDFs of the tiles GW made available for free long ago, so I can print off a set when I finally do get to it.

I am using the plastic ones at present for a Viking raid (Sort off) campain. Actually fantasy bur all the forces are dark ages with no magic or monsters to speak off.

I think they would do well for a historic campain with a warning. The choice of tiles is limited. I had to carve up some for a coast line, and there was many a time when we wanted the mirror image of what was available.

That said I am very happy with how things progress.

I also have the PDFs of the card ones they are much more complete but I have not yet used them.

Did they take the PDFs of the old ones down when they released the new edition of the game? They seem to be gone from the website (although the old version rules are still available).
