Hi, I'm looking for a Wargame I can play with 4 or 5 miniatures per player on a small table (no more than 90x90 cm. Roby |

Hi Roby, Any ideas what period you want to do? Are you specifically after collectible miniatures? Bill. |
robpask | 10 Aug 2012 2:10 a.m. PST |
Hi Blacksoilbill, not important the period and not important if the miniatures are collectible or not. I'm looking for a game I can easily set up, with a bunch of miniatures. Thanks |

Have you tried 2mm. That would be a small game! Come to think of it
.on 90x90cm it could even be a large game
well
.sort of! |

Two Hour Wargames gladiator games, perhaps? link Or Normandy Firefight with 15mm figures? link |

For fantasy you can't go wrong with Song of Blades and Heroes: link A dozen figures and a 2'x2' play area will get you in the game. |

Wings of Glory. Of course it's miniature planes and not figures but they are all ready painted and you could get away with one per player and your area would be large enough. No terrain required. Series 5 should be reasonably well available. Or there's the starter set with Series one models for £50.00 GBP on ebay. |

1-48 Combat, is a 28mm WWII skirmish in Stalingrad. Nice German and Russian figures, one page rules. Everything you need comes on the blister or starter pack |

The USE ME system is very fast and if played with 15mm can be done in a 3ft by 3ft space or smaller if using less figures. Play is VERY fast. |

Desperado, Western gunfight game. |

Malifaux works very well at that scale, as do most of the Goalsystem games like Supersystem, Chaos in Cairo/Carpathia/Cronos, or Blasters & Bulkheads – although you'd have to skip on henchmen groups to keep the figure count down. |

FFG has that new X-wing game coming out. Not sure of the playing area but it looks like each player only controls 1 or 2 ships each. |

Second for Song of Blades and Heroes which works great at that table size. The warbands do often end up being 7 or 8 figures per side, but 4-5 is completely playable. It's also just about the easiest-to-learn miniatures game I've ever played that is still fun and engaging. Lastly, it's only 8 bucks and allows you to use any fantasy miniatures you'd like. link It's my club's go-to game and we're in the middle of a campaign if you want to check out our games. chicagoskirmish.blogspot.com |

Song of Blades & Heroes is great, and cheap, and well supported by the creator and affiliated publishers. |

as do most of the Goalsystem games like Supersystem, Chaos in Cairo/Carpathia/Cronos, or Blasters & Bulkheads – although you'd have to skip on henchmen groups to keep the figure count down. You could always use only one hunchman per henchmen group and give him a number of hit points equal to the size of the group. (i.e. a henchman group of 5 would be represented by a single figure with 5 hit points/lives). Tim |

Red Sand Black Moon (by Two Hour Wargames). It's fantasy gladiator fighting, but can easily be re-skinned to about any (melee) period you want. |

I'm just working on a small bunker designed for me to play WW2 – Captain America, Star Wars, Clone Wars and Dr Who. But could be used for most games that you think could be held in a bunker or a space or corridors and small rooms. It includes small interchangable corridor sections so no game is the same; plus yesterday I added a Cave with a Space Ship being built. Rules that I use are home grown and throughly tested, even at shows as Parcipation games. But Song and Blades would work also. Ok now you have all read that, here's where you all stop reading – its Lego! If you are intrested contact me offline and I can send you some pics – john.colwell@ntlworld.com |

Warmachine or Hordes might fit the bill: privateerpress.com Even better, there is a warmachine two player boxed set out, contains everything you need for small games. A Hordes boxed set is in the works. |

Wings of War. 1 miniature per person, and you can buy them already painted and based! Wonderfully fun and simple game with lots of action. |

Malifaux is quick and the initial rule book and cards are inexpensive. Expands well too. Historical – any western gunfight game or gladiator thing. Definitely most pulp games! |

I believe you are looking for Brink of Battle, a fairly new set of rules. But it is designed, primarily, for one on one actions. But I guess you could have more than one player per side without much difficulty. |

15mm, and/or 25mm/28mm, or 32mm (prepainted Star Wars CMG minis), and one of the FUBAR, free rules sets. They're available on the Forge of War Yahoo Group. |

There are scads of games out there which recommend a 2' x 2' or 3' x 3' board; you could always play small actions with whatever rules you want, and change inches to centimetres to help keep things small. Warpspawn has dozens of games (most of them playable with miniatures) set on chessboards. Bob Cordery (Wargaming Miscellany) has done fantastic work designing games that use both hexes and squares: some on chessboards, others on slightly larger ones, and his blog followers have designed their own versions using his as their templates. Do a search for "small tabletop wargames" and hundreds of sites will pop up. |
