These are the original line commissioned by Todd Fisher approximately 30 plus years ago for the 100th anniversary. The figures were used in massive convention games of the stroming of the Tuileries, etc. Recent threads on TMP resulted in Old Glory finding the molds. I like some others waited patiently for some annoucncement. Finally, I called and arranged to purchase runs of all the molds so that I could have at least one of each pose. The shipment arrived withing three days of charge. Impressive!. My total haul is 242 figures of various units. There are 122 mob (27 different poses), 45 National Guard (11 different poses), 49 Swiss (or "Ancien Regime" of 13 different poses), and 26 soldiers with bearksins (6 different poses). I think the bearskin troops are National Guard but they could be "Ancien Regime" or both because I am unsure what the National Guard Bearskin looked like from behind). The figures are scaled in at 25mm from sole of foot to eye. As for the figures, they are great! The sculpts have action. The clothes of the mob are varied such that duplicates will fade into the mob if painted differently. The regular soldier castings are equipped and also posed in action. All in all, good stuff. As for uniform accuracy, I THINK the uniforms of the National Guard and Swiss are correct but unfortunately I cannot attest to such as my books are packed up and can't be gotten to for some time. Equipment also looks correct. Good castings at a good value. Old Glory tells me they are going to start bagging these up and selling in their traditional 30 figure bags. Hope that helps

I just looked through the Grenadiers one more time and note there are definitely two different types. Half have plates on the ammo pouches like the Swiss Guards and half have ammo pouches without plates. Also, several of the Swiss guards are missing hats. I also forgot to mention the mob have a variety of hats, bicornes, caps and bareheads. Most have firearms but there is one woman with a knife, several with pikes, one with a sword and one with a pistol. Mark |

Mark, can you email the picture? Traveller_a at hotmail dot com I am curious regarding the size, are they as small as the old Foundry Revolutionaries or more like 28mm? Thanks for your help! |
MarkRyan | 10 Aug 2012 8:19 a.m. PST |
I'll be sending the email shortly. I don't have the Foundry figures. Most of my collections are in 15mm. I do have a variety of 28mm skirmish sets so can offer comparative pictures from Foundry Darkest Africa, Pulp Figures, Blue Moon/Old Glory/Westwind Cowboys, Redoubt Trojans, Old Glory Italian Wars, Brigade King Phillips War, Old Glory Pirates, Eureka Moderns and a mishmash of Fantasy and SciFi. Let me know what you may have in those genres and I am sure I can give you a worthwhile comparative shot. For what it's worth, they are more 25mm than 28mm. |

[/URL] The above show the Mob pack together with a scale comparison with a Copplestone DA figure. Mark RYan was kind enough to share these photos with me back in 2012. Please post a photo if you manage to acquire some of these. Thanks! |
