The local club is thinking of getting a few small WSS armies together, and I'm going for the British. Ebor Miniatures caught my eye, but I'm not sure about a couple of things.

British foot and horse: am I right in thinking the brits take from the generic musketeers and cavalry, in the 'foot' and 'horse' pages of the catalogue?

Artillery: any of this arriving, anytime soon…?

Ebor is a very fine new line in 28mm WSS, best out there, IMHO. Their website takes much getting used to and patience in doing so, but the reward is great.

There are specific listings for British foot:

So far the Ebor horse selection is essentially generic.

Not too long I wouldn't think. Warfare Miniatures do have artillery available, but gunners are in brim hats.

If you haven't already, check out the League of Augsburg website, Ebor images have been featured regularly there. Also LoA's Warfare Miniatures, ca 1685-1698, are quite nice and are complementary to Ebor for the "roll-over" of styles from 1685 – 1714 inclusively.

It's been a very exciting year for devotees of this era with great numbers of figures appearing, including North Star's "1672" range. Check out the LoA site, lots good info and interesting conversation from knowledgeable people there regularly.

Also, don't hesitate to contact Nick (Ebor) and Nick (North Star) both are very forthcoming and enthusiastic about the era as well as Barry at LoA. A mutually supportive, non-competitive, group of advocates of 1672-1714

Cheers,

Yes, but there are only three British grenadiers available to buy individually! Like I say, I guess the musketeers in the regiment packs are their generic musketeers (what else could they be?), but I still wanted a little concrete conformation.

Thanks for the information and links, though! I'll have a good look at the LoA site.

Right, sorry about that, was typing too fast this morning. There are three or four (five now?) rather generic musketeers, one with cockades, etc.

However, if you order a battalion pack (discounted) you will get the proper mix of figures/types from Nick.

Just for anyone else, but as per my advice on frothers, go for the ones with cockades ;-)

I didn't think the British wore cockades during this period but could be wrong.

The Ebor cavalry are very suitable for the British as they have the button lace on the cuffs. Very nice figures and the service is excellent
